Abstract :
The paper investigates numerically the flow around a car body with different angles of wind velocity to car axis in range of 0~30deg. The scale of automobile is 435 mm times 68 mm times 148 mm length times width times height. The coefficients of flow resistance and of uprising force are defined. Analyzing the result, it can be concluded as follows: The wind angles affect the flow around the car strongly. The coefficient of flow resistance increases with increasing the wind angles, and the coefficient of uprising force increases with increasing the wind angles. According to the simulation results, some measures can be taken to help drivers avoiding traffic accident.
