Abstract :
Focusing on the assessment of the health of bridge in Japan, we develop a bridge health diagnosis system for daily bridge maintenance. In bridge diagnosis system, we develop a wireless sensor network (WSN) to measure and gather the vibration data caused by external force such as wind pressure, running vehicles and etc. In order to transmit the data of each sensor, the data is divided into many small data packets. That the data packets loss sometimes occurred in the WSN causes some collected data is broken. In order to confirm whether the data of WSN is integrity we fix a Zigbee sensor nearby the sensor of WSN and let them measure in the same time by time synchronization. Furthermore, in large bridge (for example cross-sea Bridge) the WSN does not have enough nodes to cover the entire bridge. To solve this problem, the wireless network integrated WSN and Zigbee and a data collection system are developed for bridge diagnosis. This paper introduces the combined wireless network and the data collection system of it, including the network architecture, transmission protocol, and data collection protocol. We apply this data collection system to many field experiments in fukoka. In this paper we will introduce the field experiment occurred at hibikino, Kitakyushu city in Japan.
