Abstract
In this study, we construct a stereo camera sensor network system designed for use with a breeding database. We collect stereo images using the system, and we propose an evaluation method to indicate leaf growth. We are able to obtain an evaluation value from the three-dimensional (3D) shapes of tomatoes, and thus we can evaluate the tomato plant canopy using our system. Our proposed system can analyze the 3D shapes of agricultural crops easily. Consequently, the results of our field experiments show that our method and system can be used to good effect in a plant factory.
