Abstract :
In this paper, an induction motor under mixed air-gap eccentricity condition is simulated using modified winding function approach. Then the stator line current is used for detection of eccentricity condition using Fourier transform. Wavelet packet decomposition may be proposed as a useful and proper method for the detection of eccentricity. Since in the proposed method, faults can be well detected and isolated, it may be suggested as a proper method for fault detection in induction motors. Simulation results would confirm all our claims.
