Abstract :
Active Terahertz imaging technology for security applications overcomes the current limitations of commercially available passive imaging systems. These limitations are either a fairly low spatial resolution or a too slow image acquisition time. At the same time, active systems based on all-electronic sources and detectors offer a very large dynamic range and the ability to perform range measurements. In this contribution we will show measured reflectivity and range images taken with our SynViewScan 300 table-top system. We will illustrate the potential of SynView´s active THz range technology for stands-off security imaging. In addition we will present novel concepts on the road to realtime operation using a multiple source and detector arrangement and synthetic image formation.
