Abstract
A circular cylindrical perfectly electric conducting inclusion is buried at a certain distance from the surface of the ground. We determine suitable parameters of a thin passive superstrate layer placed atop the ground such that the detectability of the circular inclusion is increased when the configuration is illuminated by a line source. Preliminary numerical results exhibiting the effectiveness of the approach are presented.
