MVDDS network layers adapted with DVB-RCS as a terrestrial RC solution

The purpose of this paper is to introduce a new network architecture approach, which is composed of a combination of the broadcast, and telecom technologies in order to have an integrated network that facilitates the submission of interactive services over an asymmetric multimedia network to different categories of users. A novel architecture of a point-to-multipoint broadband network using a three-layer network solution compliant with the DVB standard is proposed The downstream network layers are composed of a merging structure between microwave video distribution system (MVDS) and satellite master TV distribution networks (SMATV) distribution systems, while the upstream network structure is composed of a combination of SMATV, local multipoint distribution system (LMDS) and MVDS distribution networks.
