Abstract :
Using the separation method, the effect of 1D and 2D plasma non-uniformity on absolute instability (ABI) of electrostatic waves in a magnetized pumped plasma is investigated in plane geometry. The reflection of such waves along the waveguide is studied. Growth rates of the periodical and aperiodical ABI are reduced due to plasma nonuniformity.
