Abstract

SYST is a comprehensive tool package for software development. It supports software system design, detailed design, and coding in a top down refinement way. Meanwhile, in the reverse direction, by parsing C source code, SYST may generate many kinds of design documents automatically from source code. Therefore, the design documents and source code say easily be kept consistent during the phases of implementation and maintenance. This paper discusses SYST´s design goals, functions, and the experience of its use. Key techniques of its implementation are briefly depicted.<>
