Abstract :
Clarifies the relations between European and International safety standards and explains why US Exporters are no longer able to simply ship a high-technology product manufactured for the US market to a foreign customer. Years ago many of these foreign customers were willing to buy the equipment “as is” and often had to retrofit the equipment to bring it into compliance with their national regulations
