Abstract
When the Chairman of the Board of Millipore Corporation committed that Millipore´s 10 major facilities in 5 different countries would pursue ISO 9000 certification, the Waters Instrument Operations Division wanted to ensure that it instituted a program which was successful. A 15 step process was developed which resulted in certification on the first try and a Quality System that fosters continuous improvement. Our Quality Management System documents the methods used to manage and control manufacturing operations. Waters Manufacturing Operations include the following functions: Planning, Purchasing, Document Control, Machining, Assembly, Inspection and Testing, and Receiving/Stocking/Shipping
