Abstract :
A novel Tx/Rx switch for single antenna 5-6 GHz wireless LAN is presented. The proposed solution allows to wire on-chip the output of the power amplifier and the input of the low noise amplifier directly to the antenna. The circuit is based on the so called boot strapped inductor approach and does not require any external components. It gives better performance with respect to the RF front-end which commonly use PIN diodes as switching element, it is fully integrated and does not require any additional technological steps. The operating principle is demonstrated and the most representative performances are summarized.
