Abstract :
The properties of electrons, positive and negative ions in nonpolar dielectric liquids are discussed taking into account the structure of the liquid around the charged particles. In the case of positive ions, electrostriction leads to the formation of a solid-like shell around the ion. In the case of electrons and negative ions, the repulsive exchange interaction has to be taken into account in addition to the electrostriction. The mobility of multiatomic charged complexes, the electron energy spectrum, kinetics of the electron bubble creation and their explosion at negative pressures are discussed. Features of the electron bubble states in droplets and negative ions on the liquid surface are also discussed.
