Abstract :
For 3D lenticular display, a lenticular sheet is usually designed for a given LCD panel once an integer number of views is determined. However, this panel-dependent design is expensive because it cannot be used for LCD panels of different dimensions. To solve this problem, we propose a noninteger view multiplexing method when a lens covers a floating point number of sub-pixels. Meanwhile, to compensate the lenticular misalignment and inhomogeneity, we need to know the geometric relationship between LCD sub-pixels and lenticulars, which can be obtained from pattern images display. Hence, we also suggest a method to generate noninteger multiview pattern images. We prove that the proposed method can successfully display distortionless 3D images for a noninteger view system.
