Abstract :
In this contribution the electric field distribution at a control consol is investigated in the presence of wireless LAN transmitters. The structure of the consol is assembled on bridges of modern vessels. The aim of this paper is to investigate which electric field strength has to be expected at electronic devices which are installed inside or upon the control consol while the wireless transmitter is installed directly outside the control consol. Therefore measurements and simulations have been performed. Furthermore, a suggestion for a continuative threshold for the IEC 60945 is given for the 2.4-GHz-ISM-band.
