Abstract :
Results are presented on the two-step design method of 2D IIT (infinite impulse response) digital filters. A significant reduction in filter design time is achieved. Techniques are provided to choose an initial parameter vector which decreases the required design time. An important stability theorem is stated and proven. It is shown that the method compares favourably with other available techniques in terms of design time. The proposed method offers savings in computation time of ≈95%
