Training biomedical engineers in developing countries

There is a major problem with inadequate maintenance of medical equipment in the less developed countries. Financial resources allocated by these countries to their health services are wasted and the support donated by international agencies does not produce the required benefit. The medical equipment fails to support the health service as it should. All developing countries lack sufficient technical staff and this makes it impossible to run an effective maintenance service even if the other deficiencies were removed. More initiatives are required to help countries develop their own long term solution to these problems
