Abstract :
The automated manufacturing systems (AMS) have been designed to meet the market requirements that demand for products that present low cost, quality, and ready delivery. So, the AMS control complexity increases with the production needs and technological resources that can not be designed using single discrete events sequences or/and basic interlocking. The complex AMS must attend the production planning needs, fabrication alternative routes, system operation and resources availability, besides the basic control needs. This work identifies, designs and implements the control needs required for a flexible manufacturing transfer line (FMTL) using an approach based on the risk analysis and Petri nets modeling. The risk analysis task defines and classifies the hardware and software to be implemented to avoid equipment losses and damages. The Petri net model uses a modular approach to model the interlocking and sequential control programs and the Petri net analysis techniques can be used to verify and validate it
