Abstract :
ZKBE, a knowledge base environment for mechanical design, is proposed in this paper to deal with large-scale mechanical design-relevant knowledge. Some special technologies used in ZKBE, including the knowledge representation model OOS (Object Oriented Structure) and the design problem-solving architecture, are discussed in detail. Also, some function modules (e.g. the knowledge base storage system, the knowledge maintenance system, etc.) are also outlined.<>
