Abstract :
Summary form only given, as follows. The possibility of guiding ultra-short, intense laser pulses in non-ablative capillary discharges is studied. The ablation-free capillary Z-pinch provides similar results as the ablative pinch, but it has numerous advantages. It is instability-free, pollution-free and it does not destroy the capillary walls.
