On cardinality of quasi-constant weight and constant weight codes

The cardinality of used quasi-constant weight codes in a system with error detection, in which the constant weight codes have been used for detecting all asymmetric errors, is analyzed in the paper. The analytical expression of the ratio of the cardinality of the set of quasi-constant combinations to the set of constant-weight combinations is obtained, that allows finding the optimal parameters of codewords for given cardinality of the code set and its error detection ability.
