Abstract :
This paper presents an object oriented design model and discusses the structure and functions of the design problem solver. The class in this model is used to represent the particular problem solver. The relation between classes is represented by the field used by and the compound attributes of the class, and the real connections of the design object can be established only during the solving process. The knowledge of reasoning is separated into two parts: the explicit defined queue of solving action and the constraint satisfying set. If a constraint is violated, the system will try to remove it by modifying the existing solution instead of backtracking. All of these features are useful for design problem solving.<>
