Abstract
We propose novel usage parameter control and network parameter control algorithms for ATM networks using artificial neural networks. The proposed algorithms employ ANN to point the cells for tag or discard for heterogeneous multimedia traffic with multiple quality of service and transmission priority requirements. Comparisons of the proposed algorithm to the generic cell rate algorithm are included and some future direction of research are described
