Abstract :
A combination of the transmission line matrix (TLM) method and the transverse wave formulation (TWF) method based on a diakoptics approach is presented for the efficient modeling of multiscale and multilayered planar structures. The formal similarities of TLM and TWF enable a direct diakoptics approach, partitioning the simulation domain into TLM and TWF subdomains. The TWF subdomain is completely characterized by its discrete Green´s functions on all ports of the interface. The computational effort can be considerably reduced by using a connection subnetwork which performs a transformation from the pixel to the modal domain.
