Abstract :
Internet traveling diameter (ITD) is an Internet property defined in this paper being of great significance in measuring Internet performance. Approaches in short-term and long-term computing of ITD were mainly studied. The short-term computing model was composed of a Logistic model and with additional adjustment models to simulate the growth properties of ITD. Parameters in the model were finally determined through rounds of calculation by genetic algorithm. As for the long-term computing model, a chaos property, correlation dimension, of ITD was calculated firstly. And with this, a long-term computing model based on a three-dimensional equation system is finally proposed.
