Abstract :
The style of war changed from symmetric to asymmetric. This type of conflict is called as “counterinsurgency warfare.” It is difficult to handle this type of warfare because the dynamics of this type of war is completely different from classical one. This paper tackles the current problem of counterinsurgency and tries to model the main dynamics of a country that is undergoing an insurgency described by D. Galula. By modeling the dynamics of an insurgency and a classic counterinsurgency strategy such as Clear/Hold/Build, we tried to figure out some emergent behaviors of this new style of conflict and understand some hidden mechanisms of this type of warfare.
