Abstract :
Wireless sensor networks have many applications in everyday life, ranging from monitoring and detection to space exploration. Among them event tracking applications are very important. In such applications, event we are considering is moving every time which triggers many sensors continuously. All sensors send their information´s collectively to the centralized sink. When number of sensor nodes reporting data increases causes congestion towards sink node. Congestion causes throughput reduction and packet loss. In this paper, multiple sinks are provided by which traffic is distributed among sinks and thus congestion is reduced. We develop an NS2 simulator for IEEE 802.15.4 sensor networks and conduct several sets of experiments to analyse the performance of proposed algorithm.
