Abstract :
Microwave polarization selectors based on the main square cross-section waveguide and two output channels of the standard cross-sections for orthogonally polarized waves were theoretically studied. One output channel is implemented as a smooth longitudinal junction of the square and rectangular waveguides and another one is formed by the rectangular waveguide connected with a sidewall square waveguide so that the rectangular waveguide broad wall is perpendicular or parallel to the main waveguide axis. It is shown that the optimum of the polarization selector parameters is achieved when the rectangular waveguide broad wall is parallel to the main waveguide axis.
