Abstract :
Ultra Wide Band (UWB) communication systems are considered to be ideally suited for future indoor and short-range wireless communications with high-speed data rate, as they operate at low power, provide high capacity in dense multipath environments. Combining the energy received over multipath, RAKE receiver usually holds good performances in the UWB communications environment. However, interferences from other narrowband systems degrade the bit error rate (BER) performance severely. To suppress the narrowband interference (NBI), a low sampling rate RAKE receiver is proposed. The proposed receiver can be considered as an enhancement of RAKE reception, with reduced ADC sampling rate and high NBI suppressing capability. After discussing the fundamental principle of the proposed receiver, detailed analysis and simulation results are given and BER performance is evaluated under IEEE 802.15.SG3a UWB channel models.
