Abstract
Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) has been suggested to address issues of size, weight, and power in avionics systems by means of partitioning. We are currently designing and implementing the IMA architecture for a university-operated UAV aiming for lightweight, low cost, easy development, and easy extension. This study can provide invaluable insights into building IMA on a small UAV by combining free software and COTS hardware.
