Abstract
The paper examines the role of coil design, composition of insulating mica tapes, insulation application and coil manufacturing techniques in the further improvement of the dielectric and physical properties of the insulation system. This enables reduction in insulation thickness and further increases in the output for a unit volume. Impregnation compositions commonly utilized, and the scientific approach for optimization of the accelerator content and processing parameters including curing regime ares described.
