  • Abstract
In this paper, it is to employ the non-linear GMI analysis (in particular the V/sub 2f/ signal) as a research tool in the study of intrinsic magnetic anisotropies in a negative magnetostrictive amorphous Co/sub 80.89/Fe/sub 4.38/Si/sub 8.69/B/sub 1.52/Nb/sub 4.52/ fiber obtained by the so-called "melt-extraction technique". The fabrication technique, characterized by a radial solidification with respect to the contact line between the wheel and the melt, induces a particular internal stress distribution, which, in the case of negative magnetostriction fibers gives rise to the occurrence of an off center axial inner core with axially oriented magnetization.
