Abstract :
Summary form only given. Specimens of nickel with different values of average grain size from 100 nm to several mum and different grain boundary states were prepared by torsion under quasihydrostatic pressure. The work function was measured by electron-beam measurements of the contact potential difference. Influence of average grain size and grain boundary state on value for work function is determined
