Abstract :
Space charge is formed in an interfacial region of LDPE laminated EVA dielectrics, when they are subjected to dc voltage. A modified Maxwell-Wagner model is proposed to analyze such an interfacial space charge distribution. Ionic charge might be predominant rather than electronic charge. Positive charge is more predominant than negative charge in this dielectric system. Ionic charge carriers in EVA jump over a potential barrier to form a charge distribution at the dielectric interface. It is confirmed that its peak penetrates into LDPE, and it may be drawn via the electric force
