Abstract :
An industry power grid for aluminum electrolytic is discussed in this paper, which is located on Inner Mongolia province, China. In order to reduce the electrolytic cost, amount of wind power is about to be integrated into the power grid on a high penetration level around 30%. However, this power grid is distant away from the main inter-connected power system. The frequency-security issue is hence considered as significant excluding an external grid support. This technical issue can be partially addressed by the frequency-security based operations presented in this paper. The numerical simulations demonstrate the effectiveness of the presented operation strategies, which are with the aspects of frequency deviation, primary, secondary and tertiary frequency regulations of the studied power grid.
