Abstract
To reduce imported Computer Numerical Control machine and lower retrofitting cost in Thailand, DSP-Based Motion Controller system for Milling Machine was developed. PCI bus is used to communicate with Computer and multiple motors are interfaced via analog and digital pulse-train to control up to eight axes simultaneously. By using S-curve Profile Calculation method, the developed system supports smooth motor movement for various path types such as point-to-point linear movement, circular motion, blending path for continuous movement at corner point. Prototypes have been developed successfully and replaced old milling machines, RAMA M200 model, at two vocational institutes in Thailand.
