Abstract :
A topic of interest related to titanium alloy Ti-6Al-4V implants is optional surface treatment. In many cases surface treatment is used for bioactivation of the implant and thereby improvement of its biocompatibility and osseointegration. An important factor of surface properties in the context of applying coatings is its roughness. This paper discusses the design of test samples (plates). It is aimed at construction and orientation due to the technological properties of direct metal laser sintering (DMLS). The resulting measured roughness values are used to evaluate the impact of the plates´ location on the EOSINT M 280 platform during the sintering process.
