Abstract :
This paper introduces a new method for learning high-performance fuzzy membership functions for a fuzzy logic controller using genetic algorithms (GAs). GAs are search procedures which duplicate many of the processes of nature genetics. The membership functions learned by the genetic algorithm provide for a more, efficient fuzzy logic controller than membership functions selected by the subject decision. The approach is applied to a spacecraft rendezvous problem.<>
