Abstract :
A new fuzzy control method for control of group elevators is proposed. An expert system that is used to realize the fuzzy control with a fuzzy control rule is built. It consists of a knowledge database whose rules are divided into production rules and fuzzy rules, inference decision part, traffic situation database, control commands and control equipment. Knowledge and experience of an expert about elevator group supervisory control are memorized and dispatched for the system in order to bring about control commands and to finish organization and monitoring. A new fuzzy rule that is the key to describe the dynamic features is studied. The fuzzy control is used to describe dynamic performances of group elevators. Based on the data stored in the expert knowledge database and the traffic process database, waiting time and distance time are calculated so that control commands for each elevator are sent out. Control format and use of fuzzy control are discussed. A fuzzy inference decision method that is the heart of fuzzy control is described. An optimum algorithm of car distribution of the elevator is obtained by the process of fuzzy inference decision. The control results, for an AI 2100 elevator, are examined. It has been shown that transfer ability of the elevator is increased greatly.<>
