Abstract
Minimising drops and overshoots in the power supply output circuits caused by sudden load current changes is a challenge for power supply designers. The paper presents a novel transient response enhancement technique. Neither expensive bulk capacitors nor additional supply voltages are needed. A relatively small energy storage capacitor is used together with a fast and powerful error amplifier. The solution can be used both inside DC/DC modules and as a separate power component. The paper presents the idea of the design as well as the test results
