Abstract :
This paper considers high-speed positioning methods of an ultrasonic motor. Controller is simply designed based on Proportional and Integral (PI) controller, because it is not complicated to understand a role of each parameter. However, operating variable can be easily saturated due to I controller and specifications of a driver. In order to overcome the saturation, switching type PI controller which operates as PI controller within specified range is presented. Using this controller, tracking performance and rising time are improved without overshoot. In addition, input shaping filters and Bang-Bang systems are also applied to realize high-speed positioning of USM, and these proposed methods are expected to be utilized in practical applications. Experimental results with and without a load motor show the effectiveness of the proposed control methods.
