Abstract :
Characterization and modeling of a mechatronics human stress detection system is proposed. By modeling the compression forces acting on a cylindrical membrane from a human fingertip, a partial differential equation (PDE) is solved for the dynamic response identifying the motion eigenvalues. These values depend on the membrane dimensions, the area-density of the material and the compression force. The model can be applied to the human fingertip, thus obtaining the human stress eigenvalues. Such eigenvalues depend on the dimensions of the fingertip, the internal stress force (mechanical factor) and the area-density (thickness) of the skin (biological factor). Utilization of such a model can explain why a fat person is less stress than a slim one. Simulation results as well as an implementation model are presented.
