Abstract :
This paper presents a wavelet packet (WP) based boundary protection (BP) scheme and its application to series compensated EHV transmission lines. The principle and design of the proposed relay are described. Simulation studies have been carried out to investigate the WP technique based BP relay scheme in a typical series compensated transmission system. The technical feasibility and attractive advantages have been demonstrated.
