Abstract :
This paper describes measurements with an online partial discharge detection technique for a potential-free measurement of partial discharge signals under test voltages of arbitrary shape and size. It is particularly applicable for the measurement of partial discharge signals at electric machines or instruments fed by a PWM inverter. With the help of the example of motor winding design the capability of the detection system is demonstrated
