To the 80th anniversary of professor Dmitriy Mikhaylovich Sazonov

Dmitriy Mikhaylovich Sazonov- the Professor of the Department of antenna assemblies and radio waves propagation of the Moscow Power Engineering Institute (MPEI), an expert in the field of radiophysics, antenna and microwave devices, the Doctor of Engineering. He was born on May 8, 1933 in Moscow. In 1955 after graduating from radio engineering faculty of the MPEI (nowadays - National Research University "MPEI") D.M. Sazonov remained to work in the Institute at the Department of antenna assemblies and radio waves propagation. In 1960 after finishing of postgraduate study he continued working at the department, where in 1962 he defended his master\´s thesis "Antennas on a metal cone of the final sizes", and in 1970 - the doctoral thesis "Theory of antenna arrays of optional geometry". Since 1975 to the present he has been working as the Professor of the Department of antenna assemblies and radio waves propagation of National Research University "MPEI". In 1977 he was given a professor\´s degree. The area of scientific interests of D.M. Sazonov covers a wide range of problems of applied electrodynamics: the analysis and synthesis of antenna assemblies of various types, radar devices on the basis of antenna arrays, computer-aided systems for design of antenna assemblies and SHF devices, etc. D.M. Sazonov is an author of three monographs and more than 200 articles in scientific magazines and papers of Russian and international scientific conferences. Textbooks by D. M. Sazonov are widely known. These textbooks are translated into English and Spanish. Since 1996 D.M. Sazonov became the head of the Russian subsection of IEEE on antennas and propagation of radiowaves (Russian IEEE APS Chapter), and since 1998 - the Russian subsection of IEEE on photonics, lasers and electrooptics (Russian IEEE LEOS Chapter). For his active scientific, and scientific-organizational work in IEEE Prof. D. M. Sazonov is decorated with the commemorative medal IEEE "2000 Millenium Medal for Outs- anding Achievements and Contributions" (this medal in Russia is awarded only to seven persons). Since 2000 D. M. Sazonov is a member of Program Committee of CriMiCo conference.
