Abstract

Because of necessity and requirement of quantitative information for diagnosis of psychiatric disorder, we have developed: 1. an automatic interview system, 2. a method for automatic extraction of facial organs, and 3. a method for acquisition of the quantitative information for diagnosis, and then we try to acquire the quantitative information for diagnosis by using facial expressions during the automatic interview. We focus on the movement and correlation of movement by the pupils and the head, i.e. we develop the method for automatic measurement of time sequential movement in terms of: 1. the position of pupil in terms of right and left corner of the eye, 2. direction of frontal face, and 3. horizontal position of the head. By calculating the correlation of them, we get the quantitative information by which we could diagnose a subject
