Abstract
Temperature measurement of iron-slag-mixed liquid tapped from a blast furnace taphole is essential for understanding the inner thermal condition. The temperature is generally measured by a disposable thermocouple. Radiation thermometry has the advantage of non-contact sensing. In this paper, we report the thermal radiation model of semitransparent slag on the tapped stream and experimental result of slag temperature measurement focusing on the highest intensity of the thermal image.
