Abstract :
This paper proposed a new way to optimize the cathode pattern, which improves the emission performance easily and efficiently. The edge effect was firstly analyzed by numerical simulation and verified by light spot measurement experiments. Then several emission current density profiles along the surface of cathode with different cathode patterns were presented. Both qualitative and quantitative comparisons are provided among these different cathode patterns
