Abstract :
Chinese characters are highly structural such that a syntactical approach for recognition is suitable. For hand-written characters, such an approach experiences problems because of writing style variability. An expert system with machine learning is proposed for the recognition of Chinese characters. The authors adopted concept learning in their system which is intended to tackle the problems such as mutual similarities of characters.<>
