Abstract :
In this paper, a fuzzy union reasoning based fuzzy sliding mode controller (FUR-FSMC) is proposed. In the process of designing the FUR-FSMC, we firstly employ the sliding mode control technique to design the fuzzy control rules, so that we can design fuzzy controller by systematic procedures. Next, we adopt the fuzzy union reasoning to construct the fuzzy control rules and to obtain the FUR-FSMC. This structure can efficiently reduce the number of rules in the rule base. Finally, we apply the genetic algorithm (GA) to search the optimal parameters for the FUR-FSMC. The computer simulations of an inverted pendulum control system are used to demonstrate the performance of the proposed FUR-FSMC
